Counting down the days and now only 2 remain. EDC is one of the premier EDM festivals in North America and it is without question it is in large part because they are able to bring in the rising stars. Todays post features 3 artists that will hit the decks on Saturday night. First up is someone that we at Rain City think is the next big thing. Alesso the young phenom out of Stockholm is making his rise to fame extremly fast with the help of three other Swedish stars, you may have heard of them. Sebastian Ingrosso, Steve Angello and Axwell have been headlining shows that Alesso has opened for, for the past few months. However it goes without saying Alesso wouldn't be opening unless he was worthy of it. With his two releases of Alex Kenji's "Pressure" and the Swedish House Mafia's "Save the World Tonight," he has quickly become one of the fastest growing stars. The track featured is a remix released yesterday of LMFAO's "Party Rock Anthem".
Next up is none other than Afrojack. It goes without saying Afrojack is a Rain City favourite. There was some very nervous moments when his set was originally scheduled at the same time as Swedish House Mafia's but the good people at Insomniac figured it out. Nothing much needs to be said about the Dutch Dynamo, he is clearly at the top of the EDM world right now. The track featured is a colab with R3hab and is entitled "Aces High Prutata."
Finally, the last artist to be previewed for Saturday night is Skrillex. This is one of the shows I'm looking forward to the most this weekend. Sonny Moore aka Skrillex has been banging off some major tracks that vary from dubstep to electro house. He recently just released his third EP "More Monsters and Sprites," that features a few new tracks as well as some "Scary Monster.." remixes. This will be the first time Rain City gets to see Skrillex live and it could easily be the most impressive show of the weekend. The track featured is Skrillex's colab with Foreign Beggars, entitled "Still Gettin It."
